This is the original punchline to Airliner but I thought it would be funnier to have both Amy and Sarah in the scene – and even funnier if I had Amy responding rather than speaking first.

I had to darken this up in editor just to show you the pencils. It’s funny because this issue in particular I redid the mother’s head and pose over at least three times.  I just didn’t know how I wanted her reacting to what was going on.

Airliner

I posted the pre-lim of this a few weeks back.  If you take a close look at the pencils you’ll see the joke is completely different. After I drew it up and inked Sarah I realized how to make the original joke funnier.  That left me with an inked pic with Sarah speaking into a walkie-talkie.  It took me a couple of hours to think of the perfect new punchline and draw in the new walkie falling, but I’m pretty happy with how it came out.
