Easily one of my favorite water fowl is the little, black and white and eye catching Bufflehead. The male’s larger white spot makes it look like a physical Ying and Yang gracefully gliding across the water.
The better part of these little guys is watching them constantly disappear under the water – quick and sudden bursts of movement and then they are gone! A few seconds later, they pop out from the depths. The first time I spotted these guys I was at the Scituate Harbor right after a show and saw these tiny little birds slipping in and out of the ocean.
